Hello February — and a look ahead to brighter days

Hello and happy February!

As we step into a new month, I always feel that subtle shift — the days getting a little longer, the light changing just enough to notice, and that quiet reminder that warmer, brighter days are ahead.

February is a wonderful time to celebrate the small, happy moments in our lives. The everyday connections. The laughter that shows up unexpectedly. The moments that don’t feel big now, but somehow become the ones we treasure most later.

What’s Happening at the Studio This Month

February is a planning and creating month around here — the kind where ideas take shape long before the busy seasons arrive.

Here’s what I’m actively working on right now:

New studio setups: I’m designing a few fresh, simple setups that photograph beautifully and feel timeless — the kind that let connection take center stage without feeling trendy or overdone.
Scouting new outdoor locations: I’m exploring and testing new locations for summer and fall sessions, with an eye toward places that feel relaxed, natural, and great for kids who don’t want to “perform.”
A clearer creative focus: I’ve officially stepped away from wedding photography and am putting that energy fully into families, newborns, and education. That shift means more attention, creativity, and care poured into the work I love most — and into the experience you receive.

All of this planning now means your future sessions feel easier, more intentional, and more you — whether you’re booking for spring, summer, or beyond.

Looking Ahead to Spring & Beyond

Even though spring still feels a little far away, this is actually the perfect time to start thinking ahead.

Booking now allows you to choose the dates that work best for your family and gives you something genuinely good to look forward to as the seasons change.

As a thank-you to my past and current clients, I’m offering a February-only VIP booking bonus. If you book your session this month — even if your session is scheduled for spring or early summer — you’ll receive a $100 print credit to use toward professional prints or products from your gallery.

This offer isn’t being shared publicly; it’s simply a thank-you for clients who plan ahead and value printed photographs.

More details are available by emailed me at [email protected] — I’m always happy to help you decide on timing or answer questions.

A Helpful Photography Tip for Parents

When it comes to photos — whether with your phone or during a professional session — try not to worry about everyone looking at the camera.

The most meaningful images often happen in the in-between moments:
a child leaning into you,
a spontaneous laugh,
a quiet moment that wasn’t posed or planned.

Letting those moments unfold naturally almost always leads to photos that feel more real — and more like your family.

Stay Connected

Your stories, ideas, and trust truly mean the world to me. If you’re thinking about a future session, have questions, or just want help planning ahead, don’t hesitate to reach out.

You can also follow along on Instagram for recent work, studio updates, and everyday moments from behind the camera. It’s where I share a little more of the ongoing story.

Here’s to a February filled with light, connection, and plenty of small moments worth celebrating.

Warmly,
